Inc.com featured Swag.com in “Hanging Around Facebook’s Lobby Helped These Founders Make $2 Million in 2 Years” where the article talks about how Jeremy Parker and Josh Orbach, co-founders of Swag.com decided to ignore conventional wisdom and start at the top.
Of course, it was not just a first day idea, but based on observations the two had about the over $400 billion promotional products industry and how it catered more to quantity than quality. Low quality meant it would get discarded quickly too. Knowing that younger companies and younger buyers would actually prefer (and use) higher quality Swag, the founders did lots of research and got in touch with hundreds of office managers.
So what were the three things the Swag.com founders heard most?
“First, quality was most important. Second, ease of use – no one wants to talk to have to talk to anyone over the phone or have emails back and forth to place an order. Third was they wanted to buy from a company that they knew would take care of their brand.”
We used that information and streamlined the ordering process with this website. We also made sure we had high quality products to sell, partnering with brands like Under Armour, Moleskine and Patagonia.
Find out more about how we raised the bar on promotional products and grew the business in early days by promoting their products the old fashioned way to the likes of Facebook, WeWork, Bravo TV and more, to help establish themselves as the place to go for high quality promotional products.
