How to make sure you are ordering the right sizes
Ordering apparel for large groups can be tough. It may be hard to know if everything you order will be true to size or if you will be successful in ordering the right amount of each size for your group. Long gone (hopefully) are the days when you just order a bunch of L and XLs and hope for the best.
Whether you’re ordering for your employees or an external use like an event, keep reading to find out how to make sure you have the right distribution of sizes for everyone.
Ask, Don’t Guess
It might be tempting to simply guess when ordering for large groups. Ordering the same number of small, medium, and large shirts may seem like the easiest option, but in reality, this will most likely cause some issues. First, it might create a situation in which the most popular size runs out, so some are forced to either choose a different size that does not fit or simply don’t get a shirt at all. Second, this could leave you with an excess amount of shirts.
This situation is easily avoidable. If you really must guess, data shows that the most popular sizes in the US are medium, large, and extra large. If you have a smaller group or find it to be feasible, you could ask your employees or group members which size they would be most likely to wear.
Look at the Product Specifications
Each of our apparel products has a size guide located next to its description. It will tell you the type of fit, the materials used, and if it’s unisex. Moreover, each product has chest measurements that correspond with each specific size. These tools are at your disposal to help you pick the best fitting sizes!
Consider Your Group
What occasion are you buying for? What kind of people are in your group? Considering your demographic is very important. For example, if you’re buying for a men’s weight lifting group, you probably shouldn’t buy a bunch of smalls. However, if you’re picking out shirts for women in their twenties, that might be more appropriate.

Think About the Fit
How do you want you apparel to fit? Oversized? More on the tighter side? Pick a style that’s geared toward what you’re looking for. For example, our Swag.com Women’s Cotton Crew T-Shirt or the BELLA+CANVAS Women’s 100% Cotton T-Shirt are perfect for female customers who want a tighter style. If you’re looking for something looser, take a look at the Swag.com Unisex Triblend Crew T-Shirt.
Keep Track of Past Orders
Are you consistently buying apparel for the same group? Keep track of what’s popular–and what’s not. This will prevent you from continually ordering the wrong sizes and wasting money on unwanted items. Keeping track of these patterns will help tremendously when buying down the road.
